LOTE (Languages other than English)
Mosman High School offers many languages including Japanese, Italian, Chinese, Spanish and French. All languages have classes to the HSC level.
Japanese, Italian, Chinese, and French usually can be studied at Beginners, Continuers and Extension level. Spanish is offered at Beginner level in Year 11.
We strive to make the students’ experience as meaningful as possible by concentrating on current social and cultural material. All students have the opportunity to broaden their Language experience by travelling overseas.
In Japanese and Chinese there is a regular and constant cultural exchange with Japanese and Chinese high school students and French students have in recent years, travelled widely in France. Students in Chinese have travelled to Beijing where we have established links with a sister school, Jingshan, providing students with cultural and language immersion.
Sister Schools
Mosman High has two sister schools which students visit every second year – Jingshan School in Beijing, China, and Semboku High School in Japan. Every other year, their students come to visit Mosman. Our students also visit both Italy and France.
