In addition to our Stages 4-6 music curriculum, a special music tutoring program is offered to students in areas such as:
- drums/percussion
- guitar/bass guitar
- woodwinds (clarinet, flute and saxophone)
- piano
- vocal
- brass (trumpet, trombone, lower brass, French Horn)
This is a growing component of our music curriculum.
In addition the students can join one our music ensembles which rehearse on a weekly basis. The ensembles are an extra curricular activity which are funded by membership fees. The ensemble program is managed and by an parent committee.
Our ensembles perform at a range of school and community events throughout the year.
Ensembles include:
- Choirs/vocal groups
- Jazz ensembles
- String ensemble
- Concert bands
- Specialist Ensembles inluding guitar ensemble and percussion ensemble
Many students also choose to form contemporary/rock bands with friends or join existing bands.
The Music program is supported by a very active group of parents through the Music Committee, In addition to managing the operation of the program, the Committee, coordinates an annual calendar of performances for the ensembles both within and outside the school.
