In addition to our Stages 4-6 music curriculum, a special music tutoring program is offered to students in areas such as:
- drums
- guitar/base guitar
- woodwinds (clarinet, flute and saxophone)
- piano
- vocal
- brass (trumpet and trombone)
This is a growing component of our music curriculum.
In addition the school operates eight ensembles which meet on a weekly basis, including:
- senior and junior choir
- senior and junior jazz ensembles
- string ensemble
- woodwind ensemble
- concert and performance bands
Many also choose to form rock bands or join existing bands. Our students perform at a wide range of school and community functions, and many have had outstanding success.
The Music program is supported by a very active group of parents through the Music Committee, which any parent is welcome to join. (See P&C) The Committee coordinates an annual calendar of performances for the bands and ensembles both within and outside the school.
