The Debating Program is open to all years 7-10
Students in the junior school are given the opportunity to participate in school based debating competitions. We also provide opportunities for all students to participate in a number of the State based competitions. The school funds two teams.
Students who join the Debating Team will develop and enhance their persuasive skills, confidence in public speaking and working as part of a team. These skills foster lifelong learning and assist students in learning about goal setting, communication, taking a leading role and gaining a broader and deeper perspective of the world around them and the issues which face us on a daily basis.
We have a proud tradition in Debating at Mosman High, with one senior team becoming state champions and another team being runners-up. We have had some tremendous success in the last two years with our junior and more senior teams and they had the opportunity to debate against such schools as:
